Dear Colleagues,

A consortium led by the Ankara Medipol University is hosting the fifth CloudEARTHi conference, emphasising the crucial role of higher education in driving sustainability, Deep Technology and innovation – with a particular focus on health sciences and wellbeing. This conference, in line with the European Innovation Agenda, invites diverse insights on the intersection of deep tech, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, it will address sub-themes that align with the goals of the CloudEARTHi Alliance. 

The Ankara Medipol University has kindly agreed to host the fifth edition of the CloudEARTHi conference and will be pleased to welcome co-organizing partners and participants to its campus in Ankara, Türkiye.

CloudEARTHi consortium´s members

The CloudEARTHi initiative is a collaborative effort among leading educational institutions, business partners, innovation hubs and NGOs across Europe. It includes partnerships with prominent universities and organizations such as Technical University Varna, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Innovations, Hochschule Burgenland – University of Applied Sciences, Kyiv Academic University, Octa Insight, Academ.City, Istanbul Kültür University, University of Alicante, Istinye University, Science Entrepreneurship Technology University, Kazimieras Simonavičius University, G-Force, Impact Hub, Fasttrack, goodguys, Atam Technology Envolve and Consorzio Sol.Co, among others, and is associated with AI House, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Khalifa University, University of Miskolc, Karlshochschule, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, aiming to foster innovation, sustainability and circular economy through deep tech.

This event aims to broaden the discussion around the importance of deep tech in fostering a better society and sustainability, aligning with the European Innovation Agenda. It underlines the pivotal role of higher education in encouraging sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation. Contributions that delve into the main theme or sub-themes are welcome, with a preference for interdisciplinary studies exploring deep tech, sustainability, and entrepreneurship through various methodological and theoretical lenses.

The conference’s main theme is:

“Deep Technology for Health and Wellbeing: Advancing Innovation, Education, and Cross-Sector Collaboration for a Healthier and More Equitable Society”

Conference sub-themes are:

  • Cross-sector partnerships and community engagement for sustainability: interdisciplinary approaches 
  • Ethics, Equity, and Inclusion in the Age of Deep Tech

  • Academic Excellence, skill-building and innovation: future of work, entrepreneurship and education for green and tech-driven jobs
  • Deep tech for healthcare
  • Smart infrastructure for urban green and digital transition 
  • Circular economy: supply chains, resource efficiency, innovation, education and awareness

  • Blue economy
  • Orange economy
  • Data economy (AI, ML, Big Data, Cybersecurity)

The event will take place from October XXth to October xxth, 2026, at the Ankara Medipol University, Türkiye.

CloudEARTHi conference connects academics with businesses, public bodies and NGOs in order to explore how environmental sciences, sustainability, circular economy, and the application of Deep Tech in business contexts can benefit society. The conference is organised within the Mind The Gap, Knowledge2Impact and Scale2Connect projects (funded by the European Union) and co-funding from XXX, Türkiye. Some sessions and side events are funded by Ankara Medipol University. It is the fifth edition of a conference series on Innovation Capacity Building in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability and Circular Economy in Higher Education Institutions and their Entrepreneurial Ecosystems.

To maximise the impact and include all the stakeholders, we decided to plan the conference as a hybrid event. The hybrid format will allow all to contribute to the discussion regardless of their busy agenda or budget limitations. Our registration allows for online or in-person participation. Conference registration and attendance are free of charge (Thanks to the XXX, Türkiye, Ankara Medipol University and the European Union).
